Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) is usually taken by mouth as a pill once or twice a day.
Most people begin with the suggested starting dose, taking a 25 mg pill once a day. Your doctor will work with you to adjust the dose to meet your blood pressure goals. Sometimes this means raising the dose or adding a second dose later in the day.
Always take your HCTZ at the same time every day. You decide what works best for you. It doesn’t matter when, as long as you take your HCTZ around the same time every day.
Keep blood pressure at bay, take HCTZ at the same time every day!
