Rarely, an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) can make your blood pressure get too low.

This happens most often to those who also:

  • take water pills (diuretics)
  • are on a low-salt diet
  • take other medicines that affect your blood pressure
  • are vomiting or have diarrhea
  • do not drink enough fluids

Feeling dizzy or lightheaded may be a sign of low blood pressure. Lie down if you feel faint or dizzy and contact your doctor right away. Sometimes your doctor may change your diet, fluid intake, or medicine dosage to help you even out your blood pressure. For most people, these symptoms go away as they get used to the medicine.
